Ruth
Ruth takes a down-to-earth, rigorous yet light-hearted approach to yoga. She loves practicing and teaching, sharing her enthusiasm for this inspiring and transformative practice. She is eternally grateful to her teachers.

Ruth discovered yoga fifteen years ago, developed a dedicated Astanga practice eight years ago, and has been teaching for six years. She practises with and assists Hamish Hendry at Astanga Yoga London and has studied under Shri K Pattabhis Jois and Sharat Ragaswamy in Mysore. She has studied Astanga and philosophy with Richard Freeman, Yin Yoga with Sarah Powers, and sat Goenka style Vipassana meditation retreats.

Ruth first qualified to teach with Sarah Powers in 2006. In 2008 she completed the 200 hour teacher training certificate with the Life Centre Education. In 2009 she received another 200 hour certificate after studying with Richard Freeman. In 2010 she was awarded a Masters degree in Indian Religions and Philosophy by the School of Oriental and African Studies with Distinction. Prior to having a baby she studied daily with Hamish, practising Primary, Intermediate and Advanced A Series. Currently she is practising motherhood, with the odd bit of asana, pranayama and Sanksrit thrown in (through SOAS) when the (rather divine) baby allows.
